Family Law Questions during COVID-19 Pandemic

Family Law Mediation and Litigation during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Amidst all of the uncertainty in the world today, we hear a lot of similar questions about how the pandemic is impacting family law. Here is a brief summary of the state of family law: 1) The courts are not closed. 2) We are conducting initial client meetings and mediations virtually. 3) For those who already have current support orders and/or child custody orders, it is important to remember that those orders are not automatically changed just because of the pandemic.

This can be done via phone, Zoom, Google Hangouts, or any other options to which everyone agrees.  Three-way calls, whether on the phone or online, can be just as effective as in-person meetings, and is often more convenient than getting in the car or having to leave work early.
